Department of Physics
Department of Physics at P. R. Thakur Govt. College initiated its journey in 2015 under the affiliation of West Bengal State University. Next year, Honours course was introduced. From 2018, CBCS has been implemented in the department. Despite being a new establishment, the department offers library facility on a regular basis providing an eclectic collection of text books on various topics in Physics and its related areas. The department possesses 4 carefully designed Honours and General laboratories including a Linux operated Computer laboratory. Students are provided a conducive environment to carry out their assigned experiments. At present, there are 3 full time teachers in the department of Physics.
Special care is taken for students willing to pursue higher studies.
Alumni of this department have established their positions in the field of higher studies as well as at industries.
